Course Title: Innovations in Distance Learning
Course Number: EDIT 611
Reflection:
Although a reflection on this course and its requisite assignments was actually included as a formal assignment, I will comment here on it’s overall design in regards to my educational and professional pursuits.
The course was a “target of opportunity” which I felt would weave itself in well with the direction I am headed in regards to the use of advanced distributed learning methods in the Federal government. As is typical of any course I take, I tailored my assignments as much as I could around both the audience and content of most interest to me.
In the end, the producing a Moodle course with my class partner (which I have since passed off to the ADL Academic Co-Lab for potential posting to their site) was very rewarding and led to multiple professional contacts which I would not have had the pleasure of making were it not for this period of instruction. So, professionally, it may have been an enhancer. As far as advancing my academic or research goals, however, the implications have yet to be seen.
