Course Title: Leadership Seminar
Course Number: EDUC 802
Reflection: A refreshingly open dialog presenting multiple viewpoints from published authors and also eliciting considerable student contribution, this class presented major theories in leadership and allowed expansion upon the offered curriculum as appropriately discovered through student research. A highlight was having GMU men’s basketball Coach Larranaga come and speak. A fantastic approach to weaving in the GMU picture from various perspectives.
Artifacts:
Mid-Term Paper: Prepare a paper, no more than four pages, double-spaced, in which you respond to and reflect upon the following assertion “leadership is relational, collective, and purposeful”
Group Presentation: Work with a group of colleagues as assigned to prepare a sixty (60) minute, interactive presentation to the class.
Final Paper: This final assignment requires you to consider where you are as a leader at this point in your program. Prepare a final paper of no more than ten pages double-spaced in which you identify the most essential attributes of a leader; also be sure to discuss and explain why you consider these to be essential.
